  
			
			New Copyright Office Fees Effective Today, July 1, 2006
			Certain Copyright Office fees charged for copyright  registration, recordation, and related services go into  effect today, July 1, 2006. The new fees apply to any  request for services received in the Office on or after July  1, 2006. The fee increases were announced in the Federal  Register on June 1, 2006 (71 FR 31089). The fees that have  increased include those for registration ($45), document  recordation ($95 for a single title), supplementary  registration ($115), search services, certifications ($150  per hour), and additional certificates ($40). See the  Copyright Office website for a complete list of the new  fees. The Copyright Act requires the Office to adjust fees  periodically based upon the costs to the Office of providing  the services for which the fees are charged.   (Read  further
