Copyright Office Posts Comments on What Classes of Works Should Be Eligible
		    for Preregistration
The Copyright Office is proposing regulations
for the preregistration of unpublished works that are being prepared
for commercial distribution in classes of works that the Register
of Copyrights determines have had a history of prerelease infringement
			  (70
FR 42286). Reply comments are due on September 7, 2005. To assist the
Office in compiling as complete a record as possible to determine
what classes of works should be eligible for preregistration and
to assist persons who wish to submit reply comments on that topic,
the Office is making available online those initial comments that
addressed what classes of works should be eligible for preregistration
due to a history of prerelease infringement. (View
			  comments.)
			 Copies
of all the comments filed in the rulemaking proceeding are available
for viewing and copying in the Public Information Office of the
Copyright Office, located in Room LM-401 of the James Madison Memorial
Building of the Library of Congress, 101 Independence Avenue S.E.,
		    Washington, D.C.
